We had a white Christmas this year! I think we had snow on Christmas day when I was little, but not nearly the amount we received this year.
My kids were pants-wettingly excited and had a great time alternating between indoor present time and outdoor sledding time.
You can see from the photo of our house at the start of the snow that we have a steep driveway, perfect for sledding. We’ve gone years without even a dusting, so the last two years have been kid heaven.
My problem is keeping the neighborhood kids from snow boarding down our hill. A concussion and a lawsuit waiting to happen. When did I become my mom?
I have my own children broken from daredevil moves into traffic because I can make them come inside.
With neighbor kids I have to talk really nice (so difficult) and ask Nice Mom questions. “Do you mind not doing that?”
With my own kids I can crack the whip. “Knock it off. Do you want to be the only ten year old with dentures?” Parenting is fun!
We were snowed in for a lovely relaxing day. I love eating Christmas leftovers and lounging in my jim-jams all day long. Ahh, a truly merry day!
Here’s wishing you a most happy new year ahead. May you be richly blessed!
