Recently I was home alone at night. My husband had taken the kids out shopping and I was home alone enjoying the ice cream silence. I can’t even remember the last time this happened. I was probably single and had a perm.
I walked upstairs to get something when I heard a light scratching noise coming from my son’s bedroom. “That’s strange, ” I thought.
I non-stupidly whipped out my phone and took several pictures of my son’s room. I thought the flash would illuminate whatever was in there. I don’t know why I didn’t flip on the light switch, but I was effectively creeping myself out and not thinking straight.
With the first shot, I saw this.
If you can make it out, it’s my chihuahua.
I was amused at how our old dog had freaked me out, but then I noticed she was still just standing there, staring at me.
She just stood there, staring at me. For five pictures.
I had an Amityville moment and thought about obeying that imaginary voice in my head that said “get out”!
Instead I just slowly closed the door and backed down the stairs.
I heard the dog click her way back into her little doggy bed. Can chihuahuas giggle?

Hilarious~ Thank you for the laugh!
I loves it!
LOL!
Haha…if your dog can really giggle you might have found a way to get rich on America's Funniest Videos.

Fern, are you okay?
translated…"yes! it sounds, more or less, like this: heeheeheeheeheehee!"

Too funny, Fern!
Funny!
I especially love how you were careful to put your web address on those fabulous photos! No telling who might want to swipe those and sell them on the internets. 😉
Lol, it's just a habit I've gotten into when I edit.
I think the only worse picture I've seen was my high school senior portrait, and that guy didn't have the excuse of using a camera phone it the dark!
I seriously hope that chihuahuas can giggle, because that would seal the deal on their awesomeness.
I remember one day when I was a kid I knew someone was upstairs. I froze and kept watching their shadow. The shadow froze. We sat that way for about ten minutes, my heart was pounding. Finally I screamed out, "Hello?" and my brother answered. We had both been sitting their terrified. Awesome.
Amanda, good thing neither one of you were packing heat.
Great post. I appreciate the laugh and the photos, although I couldn't make out the dog. Is it black? ;).
Amanda, I can empathize. My sister and I had a few of those moments. I'm not entirely sure she didn't do it on purpose though. I was rotten. I probably deserved it!
