After almost a year, Birchbox continues to be my favorite subscription box for beauty products. I even cancelled my Etsy subscription because it just wasn’t as good a fit for me as Birchbox.
My October Birchbox just arrived and here’s what I got. Please note links may be affiliate links.
Air Repair Super-Hydrating Eye Cream
I’ve never used the brand Air Repair before, so I’m interested in getting to know more about their products. And as a skin care aficionado, I look forward to testing out a new eye cream.
Eye creams tend to be thicker face cream, but when you get one that does its job well, it’s the difference between looking rested and looking wrinkly.
Tip: if I have a so-so sample, or a tube closing in on the end of its life span, I use it as a nighttime hand treatment. Usually eye cream is the most expensive moisturizer, so if I don’t want to use it around my eyes I still get my value out of it.
Bioderma Sensibio H2O
This is a product I already use. It’s a French micellar water. It’s great for removing makeup–even waterproof mascara. It looks and feels like water, and it’s gentle on the skin, but the little microscopic micellar particles attach to and lift away dirt, oil, and cosmetics.
The little sample size I received will be about two uses and perfect in my travel kit, since the regular bottle is too big to pack.
MAKE Silk Cream Lipstick in Magnolia
I love tiny lipstick samples that are packaged like regular lipsticks! And the pink color is perfect for my fair skin.
I’ve never tried MAKE cosmetics before, so I’m please to try it.
Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara
I live for sample-sized mascara. Really, it’s the perfect size, since you are supposed to toss mascara within three months of opening. Ha, like I’d buy an expensive mascara and toss it three months later.
After a quick fast pass, this mascara gives a natural look, and has a standard spiral brush with short, full bristles.
Oribe Impermeable Anti-Humidity Spray
Oribe makes some of my favorite splurge products. I use their Dry Texturing Spray like a dry shampoo to get another good hair day before a shampoo.
This stuff is spendy, so I’m please to have a nice sample can to test out. It smells like someone who shops at Nordstrom.
The theme of this month’s entire box seems to be self-care. The insert encouraged me to “Take a breather and slow. way. down.” As if, Birchbox. I’m busy!
This month’s box is five for five. I was happy to get all of the products and I love the brands, and the mix of color cosmetics, skin care, and hair care.
Once again Birchbox hits it out of the park for me. If you’d like to order one for yourself, please use my Birchbox referral link. You won’t necessarily get these products.
I should get my first Sephora “Play!” box later this month, so I’ll pop a review of that once it arrives. Learn more about the Play! box here.
