Last month at Blissdom, I stopped by the V8 booth on a whim. My husband loves the traditional V8 tomato juice and would start off every morning with a glass of it. I thought I’d see if V8 had a new product he might like.
A little secret between you, me and the Internet—I cannot drink tomato juice. I will cook with it, especially as a base for soup or stews, but I won’t drink it.
Once I was on a plane and asked for apple juice. The flight attendant misheard me and poured me a big ole’ cup of tomato juice. I didn’t notice. I took a drink. I sent out a spray of red, thinking I had been served contaminated apple juice.
It was so shocking and embarrassing (totally wet the back of the seat in front of me) that it put me off tomato juice for life.
So, I was surprised by V8’s new fruit drinks. I tasted the V8 V-Fusion Sparkling and loved it.
V8 sent me several of the flavors of their juice drinks and a sweet gift to thank me for trying their new products. Thanks, V8!
Since I’ve been on my health kick this year, I’ve almost completely eliminated soda from my diet. Still, sometimes you really want something bubbly to drink, and canned V-Fusion drinks fit the bill.
What I like about the V-Fusion + Energy is the light and fruity taste, that it gives you a boost from green tea, and that it doesn’t have high-fructose corn syrup, added sugar, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
The V-Fusion Sparkling is the same, but it contains no caffeine. The tangerine raspberry will be my new go-to treat when I want a little something carbonated and don’t need a lift.
My favorite flavor of the V-Fusion + Energy is the pomegranate blueberry. It’s light and fresh and I think the 8-ounce can is a perfect serving size.
My kids loved the V-Fusion smoothies. These are in the bigger bottles in my above picture. The smoothies contain no caffeine, no added sugar, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, and have a full serving of fruit and a full serving of veg.
You can get your kids to drink sweet potatoes and other vegetables and all they’ll taste it the fruit. I love sneaky nutrition.
My kids’ favorite flavor of the V-Fusion Smoothie drink is the Wild Berry, but they also liked the Strawberry Banana.
We poured some of the smoothie into our popsicle molds and made tasty treats to celebrate the fabulous spring weather we’re having.
I like these products a lot and can recommend them. The only mixed opinion I have is that the energy drinks do contain Splenda and some of my extended family can’t drink that.
Also, I’ve only found the six-pack cartons of V-Fusion canned drinks at Walmart, which is not one of my regular places to shop. It does sound like that product will be rolling out in other stores soon though. The Smoothies seem to be more widely available.
Thanks to V8 for letting me do this review. My kids really enjoyed it and I was pleased to be able to drink something with tomato juice in it that doesn’t make me spit!
Would you like to try some of the new V8 products for yourself?

We love the v8 fusion drinks and I just bought one of the smoothies for my kids and me to try, I was really excited to read about the engergy drink here until I got to the splenda part. We don’t use artificial anything at our house, so I am hoping that they see the light and switch it to stevia or some other natural sweetener. I could sure use an energy boost and minus the splenda, this energy drink sounds perfect for me!!
I have been itching to try their fusion smoothies! I think they would taste fantastic! I would most like to try the Wild Berry flavor!
I visited V8’s facebook page and have them a like!
My daughter liked the V8 VFusion Energy drink Peach and Mango flavor. She liked it enough that she says she wishes she had a bunch that she could take with her to drink after her workout at ballet and modern dance.
I’d love to try all of the sparkling juice flavors—I love the stuff! And anything strawberry or mango. 😀
I already like their FB page!
Wild berry! (my kids loved the v8 I brought home from Blissdom!)

I’d be delighted with V8’s new smoothies!
I really liked the V-Fusion Sparkling when I tried it at Blissdom and I think it would be a great substitute for alcohol on a festive occasion.
I have “like”d the V-8 Facebook page.
I bought some of the energy drinks when they were on a really good sale this past weekend at Harris Teeter. All of my family like them. I will tell you none of us realized the Splenda part and Dh can normally taste that a mile away. My favorite is also the Pomegranate blueberry.
My dd7 loves the Strawberry Banana and dd11 is into the Pomegranate Blueberry. I’m an old fashioned tomato girl and like original V8. And fyi, V8 Splash is AWESOME for making jungle juice. 😉
And I liked the V8 page
The peach-mango drink sounds yummy!
I think the fruit medley looks tastiest.
