It’s Girl Scout cookie time! I have in my hot little hands three boxes of Thin Mints and a $10 Starbucks gift card to give away to a dear reader.
Thin Mints are my favorite, but I’m not one to discriminate. I’ll eat any cookie. No cookie left behind. It’s the code I live by.
The problem with Thin Mints is that a box only serves two and I have a husband and four kids. My solution is to hide the cookies and share a box with my husband after the kids go to sleep (sharing with husband optional). If they meant a box to serve six, it would have six sleeves of cookies in the box.
Girl Scout cookies are very versatile. They freeze beautifully, if you have the willpower enough to let them freeze.
You can incorporate them in dessert recipes. Here’s a recipe: alternate a spoonful of vanilla ice cream and a bite of cookie. You are welcome.
You could use mint chocolate-chip ice cream, but I think that’s gilding the lily.
A lot of my friends can’t have gluten. This makes me want to cry and film a commercial with Sarah McLachlan singing in the background. The blog Gluten Free Betsy has a solution–a recipe for gluten-free Thin Mints. Enjoy!
To enter my cookies and coffee giveaway, all you need to do is leave me a comment telling me your favorite kind of Girl Scout cookie.
For additional, optional entries, forward this post on Facebook, Twitter or link to me on your blog or on your favorite forum (don’t be obnoxious; I suggest a link in your signature). For each additional entry, leave one additional comment here on my blog.
This giveaway will end next Thursday.
Brushing the crumbs off,
If you need to find Girl Scout cookies in your area, check out girlscoutcookies.org.

My favorite GS Cookies are Thin Mints, and there are none in my area, sadly. Thus, I totally need to win.
I already have your blog linked in my blog's sidebar – does that count or do I need to link directly to the contest? The thing is, if I link the contest, more people will enter, and my chance of winning will go down. I'll have to think about how badly I want the Thin Mints….will an extra entry be worth the still smaller % chance I win because of the vast number of additional entrants you'll get from my blog readers???? I'll think about it…..
My fav kind is Tagalongs. Love the Do si do's too. Yummy! Thanks for the giveaway!
Thin Mints are my favorite, too.
Alas I do not know any local Girl Scouts. I am buying my 1 box of Thin Mints from my GF in VA. Can't wait to get them on Monday!
Thin Mints!
And I agree…the day they come out with 6 sleeves is the day I will share with my fam.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Thin mints of course!! And Samoas!

You people are so limiting. Why do you always ask a favorite kind of something? Such discrimination I tell you! I love them all equally – as in I haven't met a box of GS cookies I can't sit in the car pool line and eat while waiting. Share? Get your own box I say!
I'd love to win some cookies and coffee Nota.
I would have to say Samoas are my favorite, with Thin Mints running a close second. I could live the whole rest of my life without Tagalongs, but I would see no reason to go on living if Samoas ever got discontinued.
Thin Mints are my favorite. And a close second with those dulche de leche thingamabobs. Last week I uttered a happy squeal while on the phone with my mom… I found a roll of girl scout cookies I'd hidden last year. My method is to hide the little rascals all around the house (as in all around the part of the house that is my study, not the rest where the others are likely to look) and try to forget where they are. That way they last more than a week.
Great post. Thanks to Wendy for linking you on Facebook. Your post just rocked my afternoon. 🙂
This is NOT a rude anonymous comment…
Frozen Thin Mints are my favorite Girl Scout cookies! A friend buys me some each year, sticks them in her freezer until we get back to CO. Her chocolate-loving husband does not even eat them…isn't that a cool friendship?!
Yikes! My first Anonymous didn't have my name!! FERN! FERN! PICK FERN!
Here's the second one to go with the link I put on FB…
The Girl Scout Peanut Butter cookies are my 2nd favorites…not quite as good as Thin Mints. FERN! FERN! PICK FERN!!
My favorite, by far, are thin mints. I like my frozen, but with a good cup of coffee sounds good, too. 😉
I can't decide. It's either Do-Si-Dos or Thin Mints.
It depends on my mood.
But I'm always in the mood for you, my Nota.
My favorite Girl Scout cookies will forever be Thin Mints – I can't wait to buy a few more boxes this year! :)deeg131 at gmail dot com

It's close between Thin Mints and Samoas. Thin Mints have a slight edge because they're an awesome treat when you eat them frozen in July!
I like trefoils, dulce de leche, and think mints.
I like thin mints.

Jennifer in AZ here. Pick me! Thin mints are the best, IMO. Right now I'm doing Medifast (so you can see that I need cookies). The Medifast Chocolate Mint Bars are like Thin Mint cookies with some sort of weird soy texture going on…I don't currently know any Girl Scouts. How could that have happened?
My favorite Girl Scout cookies are the Caramel deLites!

Thin mints!! Do they make others? Didn't know. I'm afraid I have tunnel vision when it comes to GS cookies. Please please PLEASE let me win.

Mmm… thin mints are my favorites!

A favorite?? Is there a favorite??
I've always loved the oatmeal, peanut butter sandwich kind. Do they still make those? If so, they are my favorite.
The new peanut butter chocolate ones are yummy…and Thin Mints are like an old friend with a cup of coffee….my mom used to buy the Samoas. Yum. But too sweet in my old age.
If they don't make the pb/oatmeal ones anymore, then I guess I'll have to go with the Thin Mints for that old "comfort food" effect they have on me.
Linked on FB. 🙂
I tweeted my twitter.
THIN MINTS!! Sadly not one Girl Scout has been around this area or even in my church selling cookies. I think they will probably be setting up tables outside the grocery store soon…
I love Thin Mints!! I live and breathe Thin Mints! It's been soo long since I've had any!! I need to drive around town looking for a Girl scout standing in front of a store…
*off to find her car keys*
Unless you pick me… you save me gas!!
thin mints are my favorite – especially right out of the freezer. And I love Starbucks – was just there yesterday 🙂

I shared this on fb – thanks, Nota!

Duh! Thin mints!
Wait a minute…GS makes cookies OTHER than Thin Mints. I've never made it past THIN MINT. Hello….what's the point? (Can you tell which are my favorite?) I used to have dreams about them when we lived outside the US.
Great. Guess what I'm craving now? Where's a girl scout when you need them?
Linking on FB!!!
Thin Mints will always be my first love when it comes to GS cookies! I like the PB alot, but still not as good as the mint.
BTW, they are yummy frozen too! Ever had a CS cookie Blizzard?
Samoas and thin mints are my two all-time favorites!
