Melissa and Doug provided me with four of their new Sand Play toys from their Sunny Patch collection to review. All opinions are mine, and my friend Dana’s, alone. We were not compensated for this post.
Melissa and Doug have made some of my kids’ favorite wooden puzzles. They are sturdy, durable and fun! The kind of toys you squirrel away for future grandkids or pass on to friends with pleasure.
I passed four Sand Play toys on to my friend Dana for her little kids to test out.
Here’s what Dana says:
“I love Melissa and Doug puzzles and those are the only type of M&D toys we’ve ever had in our house before.
My 5-year-old loved the set, and went right to work making cupcakes and muffins.
I liked how realistic the molds were, and how quickly the kids were able to churn out enough cupcakes for a tea party, and the sand held its shape well enough for us to set the cupcakes out and use the molds for teacups.
It was a good time, “baking” with the kids. We made “turtle pie” and “fish soup” with the molds, and mixed it all up in the buckets.
There are even measuring cups! What a cute set!
My 7-year-old made such cute muffins with these toys…”fish muffins.” She said they were like fish sticks and good for a main course, only they were shaped like muffins and had ketchup filling. Tasty, huh?
I’m giving away one set of all these sand toys to one lucky reader.
Check out the toys on Melissa and Doug through the above links and leave a comment telling me which item from the Sand Play set you think your child would like best.
