I really can’t think of two worse words than "childhood cancer". Just thinking about it makes my eyes a little watery. I look at my kids’ bright eyes and shiny hair and quake at the thought of them having to deal with a diagnosis like that.
No parents should have to imagine it, let alone go through it with their children. Aflac is helping you join in the fight against pediatric cancer with a fun, virtual duck race.
Please visit Aflac’s “Swim With Friends” website and donate twelve dollars for a rubber duck in honor of the 12,000 children who will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
On October 9th, the Swim with Friends virtual duck race will be held on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/aflacduck. The winning rubber duck will be chosen at random and its owner will win the grand prize of a family vacation for four to Orlando, Florida.
I’m going to donate a duck and race it in honor of my friend Elizabeth’s beautiful daughter, Megan, who is gone too soon.
Another easy way you can raise money for cancer is to tweet out a message using the hashtag #AflacKids. For every tweet with the #AflacKids hastag, Aflac will donate $2 directly to pediatric cancer research. Aflac is dedicated to this fight and has given or raised seventy-five million dollars to pediatric cancer research over the last seventeen years.
Click the “Dive In” link in the button below to get your duck and help fight childhood cancer. Your twelve dollar donation will be matched by Aflac. Do it!

Thanks for sharing this. I can’t imagine anything worse than your child having cancer. I tweeted this out.
Thanks for the tweet!
I participated in the Twitter party last week (week before?) because you’d mentioned it. Thanks for sharing ways we can help.
Cool! The tweeting raised more than $30,000!
