My favorite Christmas present ever was a Cinderella watch with three different wrist straps. A style-conscious seven year old could have her watch on a pink, white, or blue gingham, depending on her whim and her Garanimals.
I loved the watch and wore it tightly strapped to my wrist. So tightly that the skin underneath would be pink and smooth when the watch came off for the night. I’m still grateful to my parents Santa for giving me such a perfect present.
Now I imagine it’s harder to buy presents for me. I don’t have a favorite color or a favorite Disney princess anymore. (Not true: blue and Belle.)
I have everything a woman could want, and then some. While the budget has been tighter lately, if I need something I can get it.
So, what do you get for the person who really doesn’t need anything, and who also doesn’t collect Fiestaware or birdhouses or pig figurines (pigurines)?
For people in my life like this, I love consumable gifts. It doesn’t clutter up their homes and it adds tangible pleasure to their lives. I’ve been reviewing wine from www.cawineclub.com. It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it.
Earlier this month I got my first shipment. It was so fun signing for it from the FedEx man. Two bottles of good wine delivered right to my door!
I haven’t been drinking wine very long, so it’s nice not to have the burden of picking a wine. The selection at even the grocery store is even a little off-putting. I usually just grab something with a cute label. This usually leads to disappointment.
So, this month, my husband and I enjoyed quite nice bottles of a white and a red picked for us by the California Wine Club.
Our next shipment is due soon, and I’m really looking forward to it.

Come back after Thanksgiving for a giveaway where you can win a gift from the California Wine Club for yourself! It’s almost as good as a Cinderella watch.

I think so. And I thought the wines we received were really top quality.
hhmmm…. my mom likes wine…
Rebecca, I thought the quality was excellent. This is a gift I would give to my parents.
Check out the link, but then come back for my giveaway in December.
This is genius. My mom has become a big wine fanatic, and her birthday is coming up. This just might be the gift we give her. Thanks Anne!
I think you’ll get major cool-daughter points. My delivery had two brands I’d never heard of before, but really liked.
It’s a good way to discover quality California vineyards.
