I’m very particular about my teeth. You might even say I have a “thing”. I love having my teeth very clean. I look forward to going to the dentist and I call it the “tooth spa”.
I’ve even asked my kids if they are interested in being a dentist, hygienist, or orthodontist. Not only does it look like a pretty cool job, I could get a free cleaning, just for kicks!
I’m not like Steve Martin’s character in Little Shop of Horrors, I just know general good health is tied to the health of your teeth.
And one indicator of healthy teeth can be whiteness.
My teeth were naturally very white until my thirties. That’s when having four little kids and a job forced me to activate my caffeine receptors. Before that, I never drank coffee, rarely drank tea, and had never had red wine.
Ten years later, not only do I drink all three of those things, but I also eat blueberries as often as possible. They are on my weekly grocery list!
These are the worst culprits (besides smoking, which I will never do) for discoloring teeth.
The sad thing is, people might notice you have yellow teeth and not tell you out of good manners. For me, it’s like bad breath or body odor. I would only point that out to my husband or kids.
The thing is, if you aren’t whitening your teeth, you’re yellowing. It happens just because you are *whisper* getting older.
I use a whitening toothpaste, but a few times a year I like to use Crest Whitestrips to take out months of staining food, and just the natural yellowing from time.
One2One sent me a sample of Crest 3D White Professional Effects Whitestrips for the purpose of this review. Crest is one of my favorite brands, and I’ve used their Whitestrips before with great success. What I like about the Crest Whitestrips is that they are easy to use (seriously, idiot proof), haven’t irritated my gums or sensitized my teeth, and they work great.
They keep my teeth pearly white, with no trouble.
I’m giving away one box of Crest 3D White Professional Effect Whitestrips–an almost $50 value.

Smile inducing Christmas element: dark of the morning (and into the afternoon thankyouverymuch PNW) turning on the Christmas tree lights and enjoying the glow. Happy place.
Having all my boys home… actually I do more than just smile… I grin and I cackle … they discuss the funniest things over dinner. 🙂
I hate my teeth. Somehow I missed out on the orthodonture train that two of my sisters received and I have spaces that I don’t like. I like them white, but never seem to be able to get them white enough. I also have this lovely transparency in my teeth due to tetracycline abx as a child. So I mostly smile with my mouth shut. Blah.
You have beautiful teeth, Anne. And a beautiful smile. Is it ok that I covet your teeth???
And like always, I didn’t answer your question correctly. 😛 Seeing my granddaughters dressed in their new, and authentic kimonos made me smile this Christmas. They make me smile every Christmas…ever day.
What makes me smile is my kids laughing together.
