I’ve been a LEGO® mom for almost twenty years. I knew the minute my husband pulled out a wicker hamper completely full of his 70’s LEGO® that this was going to be a thing.
Our boys took to them instantly, building for hours. Their creations were both practical and whimsical, but always fun and straight out of their imaginations.
As our kids got a little older, they would save up for the LEGO® kits and also put their most longed-for sets on their Christmas list. I remember the Year of the Pirate Ship and the look on his face when he saw it under the tree.
And LEGO® are not just for the XY chromosome set–my daughters love them too! We bought LEGO® this Christmas. Even the smallest set gets hours of play.
The only downside I’ve ever discovered about LEGO®is that they magically appear on our staircase at night, and always in the spot where I put my instep. My kids blame the cat. She likes to play with LEGO® too.
Now you (I mean your kids) can watch really cool videos on YouTube featuring more LEGO® than you can shake a stick at. I tried and my stick-shaking arm got really tired.
Accept no substitutes–this is the official LEGO® channel. You can create playlists for your kids to watch. I’m not going to lie to you–I like it too. I watched the video where they build the giant Hobbit house more than once. I want to vacation in that thing.
There are more than five hundred other videos with more original content added all the time.
Watch what goes on behind the scenes and see all the short videos featuring the latest and greatest from one of the most trusted names in fun.
Anywhere you can access a screen is now a fun, safe place to keep your kids entertained and to fire up their imaginations. You may even get that most coveted thing–five minutes alone in the bathroom with no one asking you what you are doing.
I’m building my own playlist on the Official LEGO® Channel, but it’s just for me. Hey, LEGO® are for big girls, too!
