Blogger Bash is a new conference for bloggers that had its inaugural event this July in New York City. It’s a day and a half of party after party bringing bloggers and brand representatives together.
One of the events this year was the EA Events party, organized by Element Associates. The event was chockfull of great brands and products. Here, let me tell you about it.
We were the first to see the new Miii jewelry collection by Joseph Nogucci. Miii bracelets are made from semiprecious stone beads and rhodium-plated magnets designed to bring all of the bracelets in the collection together in a stack. Like individual charms on a bracelet, each Miii commemorates a specific milestone or memory.
I went home with a little present from Joseph Nogucci—a silver-tone necklace with the cutest little paper airplane charm. I love unique, casual little pieces like that.
I’ve always been a COVERGIRL fan and COVERGIRL was there providing beauty services as well as COVERGIRL Colorlicious Lip Gloss samples to the bloggers attending.
Also, there were manicures featuring the new COVERGIRL XL Nail Gel collection—the polishes provide the plump, polished look of a gel manicure without having to go to the salon. The formula glides on smoothly and evenly, and one coat is all you need. Also, there’s no UV light required.
I love a gel manicure but I am concerned about the UV curing process. I loved the opportunity to try a UV-less alternative. I loved the color options in the line.
Makeup touch-ups featuring essential beauty products for moms-on-the-go including: COVERGIRL’s new #instaGLAM Collection (Ready Set Gorgeous Liquid Foundation, Ready Set Gorgeous Concealer, Ready Set Gorgeous Fresh Complexion Pressed Powder, and Colorlicious Lip Gloss), Bombshell ShineShadow by LashBlast, truMAGIC, and Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara.
That Clump Crusher gives me eyelashes that are miles long without the clumpy spider-leg look I hate.
My favorite part of the event was the focus on social good. Smokey Bear, who celebrates his 70th Birthday in 2014, posed for photos and shared birthday cake with bloggers. Growing up near the Great Smoky Mountains Nation Park, Smokey Bear had an important message for my community. While we weren’t as at risk at areas out west, we still lived in the middle of thousands of miles of trees that could burn.
Smokey Bear still plays a key role in educating the public that “Only YOU can prevent wildfires.” Did you know that nine out of ten wildfires are started by humans? You can help wish Smokey a Happy Birthday by signing his online card. Go, Smokey!
AutoTex Pink encouraged bloggers to help “Wipe Out Breast Cancer.” A donation is made from each purchase of AutoTex Pink wiper blades to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. AutoTex Pink wiper blades are available in pink or in black with a pink ribbon online at www.thecequentstore.com. I wonder if my husband will let me put them on his car too in honor of a friend going through breast cancer treatment? I think he will, because he’s cool like that.
We received samples of Washdrops, an award-winning green car wash solution. Finally, there is a quick, easy and environmentally responsible way to wash your vehicle.
This will be particularly of use if you live in a draught-stricken area. But really, anyone can and should use less water to wash a car. And Washdrops uses only one bucket of water with no hose or rinsing required to get a shiny clean car. Washdrops would be ideal for school and non-profit car wash fundraisers too.
Everyone had a chance to play with the amazing Wubble Bubble Ball, which looks like a bubble but plays like a ball. The Wubble ball is available for $19.99 at Target stores nationwide. There was a HUGE line for the Wubble Bubble Ball, so I predict it being a hot toy this holiday season. I see older kids and adults buying it too. When you look at one, you’ll see why.
The #EAEVent was crowded and amazing and fun. My one regret is that I didn’t wait in the long line for a picture with Smokey Bear. I’d forgotten how much I love that furry old guy!
