If you blog then you are familiar with all the behind the scenes features available to the blog owner.
I use Blogger to host notasupermom.com and I’m happy so far with what it allows me to do and what it tracks.
One of the stats available to me is the search terms people use to find my site and click through. It is really funny what some people have searched for to come up with my blog.
A sample of this week’s search terms:
- super mom (Hardly, but thank you!)
- christmas soon (Don’t remind me, honey.)
- duggar style homeschool (Bwahaha! She’s nice. And organized.)
- homeschool mom’s skirts (Okay, getting a little pervy.)
- letting yourself go mom (Is there some bigger movement about this I am not aware of?)
- weight watchers michelle dugger (What the hay? That was random.)
I think the oddest one was in Cyrillic for the Russian term “holiday card”. I had to use a translator site to figure that one out.
How did you find me? I think most of my hits come through Facebook. Thank you for being my Facebook friend!
Future post topic: Google juice. What is it? How do you remove it from carpet?
P.S. There’s still time to enter my giveaway. Use the gift cards to Starbucks and Amazon.com yourself or re-gift. I won’t tell.

checking the google search terms is great entertainment. Someday I'll have to post mine….
As for how I found you, you left a comment on my blog once and I followed your link.
Thanks, Reader. I really enjoy your blog. It's so exciting to read about life in another country!
LOL!!! You friended me on FB.
pick me pick me
I like your Christmas 'boggin for your noggin, Nota!
I found you because those of us who are NOT supermoms are attracted to those of us who ARE!
HA!
Robin, always.
Susan, we should go find one.
Amy, I meet the nicest people on facebook.
You found me on SDL, I then found you, and it was AWEsome!! 🙂
You are one of my favorite blogs by someone I don't know, Steph.
Funny thing is, I didn't like SDL, but I like you.
How could I not like someone who wrote that her patronus would be a cougar?
Those are pretty funny! After reading this, I checked my stats to see if I had anything interesting. Nope, they all were very predictable search terms.
My search terms freak me out. Like I'm being stalked. They're all variations of birthblessed. Like they know I'm there somewhere so they google me? But do they ever comment????? NNooooooo…. You have had this blog what, 3 months?? And you already have more hits than I was getting in a year. No wonder I quit blogging for a while.
Mo, like what?
Amy, two months, but I think different types of blogs attract different levels of traffic. I think of mine as a magazine of sorts.
I'm sure I've googled your blog before I started using Google Reader to follow my favorites.
I find people comment more when you ask them a question.
Friend of a friend, I think–either FB or someone I know on the Sonlight forums. 😉
Probably through SL. The new look of the forum is cool!
I found you through ElCloud Homeschooler blog regarding not letting yourself go. I struggle in this area and I have only been a SAHM for 3 years now. It is kinda nice to put away the dressier clothes and put on knit pants, but, it sure makes it easier to delude oneself about weight gain. I have only read one or two articles and I look forward to spending more time reading your site.
Thanks, Rachel
Thank you for the kind words, Rachel.
This Not Letting Yourself Go stuff is hard. You have to put some time and thought into it every day.
